It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Simone Whitmore’s house. The Married to Medicine doctor posted an Instagram video of husband Cecil Whitmore putting up this year’s Christmas tree in their home. 

Simone was inspired to start decorating her house after seeing the gigantic tree of fellow Married to Medicine cast member, Toya Bush-Harris. “Got soooo excited when I saw @toyabushharris & @eugeneharrisiiimd ‘s big [tree] Had @cecilcwhit run out & get my [tree] Short & skinny but in the spirit!” Simone wrote alongside the video.  

But apparently, the tree didn’t quite live up to her expectations. In the clip, Simone can be heard jokingly poking fun at Cecil’s choice of tree. “It ain’t lookin’ really that tall,” she says. 

While Cecil acknowledges that it’s not as big as Toya's “19-footer,” he maintains that it’s a great size and that the branches just needs some fluffing to look fuller and lusher. 

“She looks skinny and malnourished,” Simone deadpans in response.

Joking aside, the tree looks like a great choice to us. And, as many commenters pointed out, all Christmas trees — whether short and skinny or tall and full — end up looking pretty once they’re fully decorated with lights and ornaments.

Plus, as Simone wrote in her caption, getting in the spirit of the holiday is what counts!
