The Daily Dish How to Holiday

13 Holiday Gift Ideas for the One You Love Most: Your Dog!

Your pet wants to be part of the holiday gift exchange, too.

By Mitra Sorrells

I recently got a new puppy, and I have to say it has taken a lot of restraint — A LOT! — to keep myself from buying him new toys and treats every day. After all, there are so many adorable and inventive options out there for pets nowadays. But with the holiday season upon us, I feel like I can let down my guard and indulge my desire to pick up a few extra things for my pooch. If it makes me happy, hopefully it will make him happy, and, maybe more importantly, it will keep him entertained while his human family members "ooh" and "aah" over our own gifts.

So as you're making your holiday gift list, don’t forget to include your four-legged friends. Whether you’re thinking about delighting him with some new treats, a new toy, or a cozy bed, here's a selection of great gift ideas for pets to please even the most particular pooch.

Moderno Pet Sofa

Your dog will be sleeping in style on this contemporary bed with stainless steel legs and a washable velvet cushion. Look at how adorable it'll look!

Alligator Dog Collar

For the dog who has everything. This sleek alligator-leather collar comes in either black or brown and can be personalized with up to 12 characters and spaces.

Rock 'N Bowl

You may tell your human family members not to play with their food, but for dogs it can be a great way to ensure they don’t inhale their meal in one gulp. Pour dry food in the top and then watch as your dog nudges the bowl to force the kibble to drop through the holes in the paw print and out the bottom.

H2O4K9 Water Bottle

For those times when you take your dog on long walks or road trips. He'll never be without fresh water thanks to this stainless steel bottle, which has lid that doubles as a water bowl. The 9.5-ounce bottle fits into car cup holders, backpacks, strollers, and more.

iFetch

If your dog likes to play fetch, he’ll love this automatic tennis ball launcher (and your arm will thank you). Set the launch distance to either 10, 20, or 30 feet, and watch as your dog chases the ball and then brings it back to drop in the top of the machine for endless fun. This runs on an AC adapter (included) or batteries and comes with three miniature tennis balls.

Furbo Dog Camera

It’s a treat-tossing pet camera. We repeat: a treat-tossing pet camera. If this one is not already in your holiday gift cart, there is something wrong.

Wine Barrel Dog Feeder

Add a rustic artisan touch to mealtime with this handmade dog feeder that’s made from a recycled wine barrel. The Small size is 22 inches long, 11 inches wide, and 6 inches tall. The Large size is 26 inches long, 13 inches wide, and 10 inches tall. Both come with two stainless steel bowls.

Boomer & George Pet Feeder Station

What do we love most about this pet feeding station? The fact that after Fido eats, you can tuck away his bowls! Clean up has never been so simple (or chic).

Hearth & Hand with Magnolia Pet Holiday Plaid Toy Rope

Have you ever seen a prettier chew toy? We doubt it. This is one gift you certainly won't mind leaving out when guests come over.

Xanday Dog Boots Waterproof Dog Shoes

You know what's the worst? Dirty paw tracks all throughout your house. Combat the mess with these dog shoes that will protect your pup's feet from winter salt, too.

Coolaroo Steel-Framed Elevated Pet Bed

Live in a warmer climate? Then this dog bed is a must! The elevation allows breezes to flow through, keeping your doggie cool while he's hanging outside with you.

Bone Appetit Ceramic Dog Treat Canister

A perfect gift for you and your pet: a stylish dog treat cannister we can guarantee you won't mind taking up some real estate on your kitchen counters.

Jax & Bones Scottie Velour Dog Blanket

This soft, cozy blanket right here will go perfectly with your Christmas decorations and is exactly how a pampered pup wants to be spoiled this holiday. Done.
