Do You Really Need an Adjustable Bed Frame? Yep, And Here's Why

DreamCloud's adjustable bed frame and cashmere-topped mattress will have you feeling like you're floating on a cloud.

By Talia Ergas

I have always loved watching TV. As long as I can remember, my "safe place" has been cozied up in bed with the television tuned in to Southern Charm or The Real Housewives of New York City. Now that I work for Bravo and have found a way to make watching The Real Housewives my actual job, I'm glued to my television more than ever before — so I'm very picky about the setting.

I recently found the best (the. BEST.) way to watch TV — and it’s not what you might think. Have you heard of DreamCloud beds and mattresses? Because I hadn’t, but now that I’ve been introduced, my TV-watching ritual is forever changed.

DreamCloud is exactly what the name suggests: the bed of your dreams. First, the mattress: Imagine floating atop 15 inches of cloud-like heaven, including a layer of super soft quilted memory foam, a cooling layer of gel-infused memory foam, and a hand-tufted cashmere blend cover. Trust me, it feels exactly as luxurious as it sounds. But the best part — and this is where TV-lovers should listen up — is the bed frame.

To go along with your mattress, DreamCloud makes an adjustable bed frame, which is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. At the touch of a wireless remote, you can elevate the bed’s head, feet, or both, to your liking. I like the head all the way up and the feet ever-so-slightly raised for television watching. It’s the most comfortable you’ll ever be while binge-watching Vanderpump Rules. The remote comes with three pre-programmed settings (including my personal favorite, Zero Gravity, which can only be described as the feeling of floating in mid-air) and has three programmable settings so you can save your favorite positions. Oh, and while you’re at it, please enjoy the luxury three zone massage because there’s nothing like unwinding with The Real Housewives of Orange County while your bed massages your shoulders and feet.

A few more amazing features: The legs can be adjusted to be three, six, or nine inches high (I like the 9-inch setting so I can shove storage boxes under my bed). If you’re not into the idea of schlepping (who is?), you can opt for DreamCloud’s white glove delivery service and they’ll bring your mattress up to your room and set it up for you. And did I mention it has USB plugs so you can charge your phone from the bed itself?

Beyond all the jazzy features that’ll make you feel like you’re sleeping in a luxe resort rather than your bedroom, the bed frame is actually good for you as well. Inclining your upper body while you sleep can reduce snoring and even relieve indigestion. Raising your lower body can improve circulation and help alleviate pain. Zero Gravity mode was designed based on the sleep position NASA scientists use to astronauts headed into space — it’s really good for alignment and providing support.

To make sure you’re 110 percent in love with your new bed, DreamCloud offers a whopping 365-night trial. You can test your bed for an entire year, and if you’re not in love (but, seriously, why wouldn’t you be?) they’ll refund your money and come pick up your bed so you don’t even have to worry about disposal — no questions asked.
