After she checked herself into a mental health facility in April, Britney Spears received an outpouring of support. Her ex-husband Kevin Federline was among those who commended the singer for her efforts to seek treatment during a stressful time. A statement released by his lawyer said, "Kevin commends Britney for recognizing that she needs to take a step back and that she is taking the reasonable steps to deal with her situation in a responsible way." 

Additionally, Federline acted as the main caregiver for the two boys — 13-year-old Preston and 12-year-old Jayden — he shares with Spears while she sought treatment. And based on recent reports, it sounds like he would like that arrangement to persist until Spears has further healed from her emotional stress. 

According to a source who spoke to Us Weekly, "Britney’s immediate concern has been in having increased visitation time with her boys. Kevin won’t allow the boys to spend more time with their mother until Britney is once again stable and therapeutic on medication. He allows the boys to spend time with Britney, but it’s at his discretion."

After a 30-day stay, Spears checked out of the mental health facility on April 25, and reportedly reconnected right away with her two sons. Back then, TMZ reported that Federline and Spears were to alternate caring for their kids every three days. However, the piece also alleged the singer had a long way to go in terms of stabilizing her mental health.
