All the Evidence That Tells Us Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Won't Announce Their Son's Name Yet
Kanye West and Kim Kardashian's surrogate has delivered a "perfect" baby boy.
In a shocking (and not entirely believable) turn of events, Ellen DeGeneres “surprised” Kris Jenner by telling her that her newest grandchild was literally on his way at that very moment. In a segment taped Thursday (to air Friday), Kourtney Kardashian and six of Kris' grandkids appeared on the show before DeGeneres made the announcement the surrogate was in labor with grandbaby no. 10.
On May 10, Kim Kardashian confirmed the news herself via Twitter, writing, "He’s here and he’s perfect!" before adding, "He’s also Chicago’s twin lol I’m sure he will change a lot but now he looks just like her."
Now when it comes to a name, Kim Kardashian revealed on an April 2 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! she "was truthfully thinking about naming him Rob, [after] my brother, Rob ... but then it's like North, Saint, Chicago, Rob. It doesn't really go, but I really was feeling that or like Robert, and my brother approved it."
But, before anyone sets out for RW-monogrammed items, she also added this telling clue as to when we can expect to learn their name choice for baby no.4.
"I definitely take a family survey but it's usually after the baby is born," Kardashian explained. "I usually go about three or four days nameless until I feel like it really connects with the baby."
ICYMI, Chicago was born on January 15, 2018, but her name wasn't announced until January 19, and Saint was born on Dec. 5, 2015, but not introduced by that name until three days later.
North, on the other hand, arrived five weeks before her due date on June 15, 2013 ... and her name wasn't revealed until TMZ leaked a birth certificate six days after her birth.
In the meantime, the peanut gallery (including us) is ready with suggestions for the newest Kardashian-West little. If not Robert, what about something that plays off the name's meaning of "bright fame" or a variation of Robert like Robin?
Or, remember when she said they had considered the name “Rei” for Chicago to honor Kanye’s dad (Ray West)? Wouldn't little Rey — or King — be a sweet option for this baby? Or, since they also considered Jo to honor Mary Jo, how about Joe for this child instead?
In the end, even though they settled on a name to honor Kanye's hometown for baby no.3, it's pretty safe to say they won't be naming this little one Calabasas.
Well, we don't think so anyway.
