Orlando Bloom’s Proposal to Katy Perry Sounds Like an Episode of 'The Bachelor' Gone Terribly Wrong
"He did so well," Katy Perry said, despite some big missteps.
By now, you've heard that Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom got engaged on Valentine's Day, when the actor popped the question with a spectacular floral ring that's been estimated to be worth anywhere between $300,000 and a whopping $6 million.
Now, the singer has revealed more details about the proposal Monday night on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
"It was really sweet," she said. "He asked me to marry him in a helicopter.”
What could be more romantic than that? A few charming, nervous mistakes, that's what!
"We had champagne in the helicopter and the box was in his pocket and he had written down everything he wanted to say in a note, you know, to divert, right?" Perry started.
"He was going to pull it out while I’m reading it so I’m reading it but I’m hearing, like, the champagne is like broken, the bottle’s everywhere, and I’m still looking at the note because he’s pulling out this box that’s too big for his coat pocket and it rips his coat pocket and his elbow goes into the champagne and I’m like, ‘No, I’m just reading the note I know you’re not doing anything,’” she recalled.
If she wasn't already totally endeared by that, the point was really driven home when they hit the ground.
“We did land, and it was like James Bond," she said. "Everybody had an earpiece. We go downstairs … and my whole family was there and all of my friends. He did so well.”
Sounds like the work of a professional proposal planner!
