Christian Siriano: "I Don’t Really Care What I Wear, Actually"
At BravoCon 2019, Bravo's Project Runway mentor and designer got real about his personal style.
When it comes to dressing stars like Ashley Graham, Billy Porter, Danielle Brooks, and Michelle Obama (just to name a few) — correction, when it comes to dressing anyone — Christian Siriano is a true visionary. The trailblazing designer can sketch up a completely unique design literally in seconds and he truly puts his all into curating his whimsical pieces, but when it comes to his own wardrobe, well that’s a different story.
During Bring It to the Runway with Christian Siriano at BravoCon 2019, the Project Runway mentor revealed that he actually doesn’t put much thought into his own ensembles. (We know, we were taken aback, too, at first, but the designer has good reason.)
When panel moderator Claire Sulmers of Fashion Bomb Daily asked Christian about his own personal style on Project Runway, he disclosed, "Listen, because I have to wear like five outfits in one episode — it's so many outfits! — I just wear whatever. I don’t really care what I wear, actually."
Surprised at Christian's answer, Summers responded, "That's so interesting because your dresses are so fantastic." Christian continued, " Yes! That’s why, I’m tired. I hate looking at clothes because I look at clothes all day." Who can blame him?
Christian also spilled that he shops at popular retailers just like us. That sleek, embellished blazer he sported during the panel: "This is from Zara!" he shared.
See, y'all, even uber-talented designers struggle with picking out their own outfits at times.
