This week, Lala Kent marked her late dad's birthday on Instagram, with this message for her beloved pop: "I still haven’t accepted you’re not here anymore. I’ve been with you, on this day, for the last 28 years. I miss you. Happy birthday, dad."
His birthday comes just weeks before the one-year anniversary of his passing. Lala's fiance, Randall Emmett, also found a touching way to pay tribute to her father. On Instagram, he wrote: "Today we celebrate an incredible man that I and many others were so lucky to have known and loved! Happy birthday Kent, I know your looking down and taking care of us every day. I love and miss you and thank you for the love you showed me. I promise I’ll take care of Lala and love her always. We miss you always."
In addition to the emotional social media tribute, Randall also sent his future bride a bouquet of white flowers to celebrate the day — along with a touching message, below:
This season on Vanderpump Rules, viewers have watched Lala try and deal with her grief in the emotional period after her dad's death. At the beginning of the season, she elaborated more on her father's passing.
"My dad passed away, it's like so weird to even say that, a little over two months ago," she noted at the time the episode was filmed in the season premiere. "He had had a stroke and got into an accident. The biggest thing for me that my dad had taught me was just be kind. He was so nice to everyone — and I brought home so pretty sketchy boyfriends in my day... [I'm] 27 and I don't have a dad anymore, it's a little intense for me."
