Kyle Cooke Experienced a Major “First” While Filming Season 7 of Summer House
The Summer House OG detailed a milestone moment that happened during a themed party this season.
Last year, at NBCUniversal’s upfront presentation in May 2022, Kyle Cooke confirmed he was officially growing a mullet. Since that announcement, we’ve seen Kyle rock the hairstyle on social media and during this season of Summer House — a first for the Loverboy CEO we’d been used to seeing with a shorter cut.
On the March 20 episode of Season 7, Kyle again entered uncharted territory: wearing heels.
Following the episode — which included a “Studio Fifty-Forest” party thrown by newcomer Gabby Prescod — Amanda Batula took to Instagram to share several photos of herself and Kyle rocking disco-inspired looks for the ’70s-themed bash. Their coordinated outfits included matching lavender pants, and Kyle accessorized his ensemble with retro silver boots with chunky high heels — perfect for the dance floor.
“First time in heels,” Kyle commented on the adorable pics, which also featured a guest appearance by Karma Brown — oh, sorry — we mean Kyle and Amanda’s castmate Ciara Miller.
In addition to showing off their serious style moves, Kyle and Amanda took center stage during the episode for another big occasion: Amanda’s 31st birthday.
Last year, as Summer House fans may recall, Amanda’s big 3-0 turned out a bit contentious, considering how Kyle unfortunately came up short when it came to gifting his longtime love with something special.
After receiving a lot of flak from his castmates for the blunder, Kyle made up for his past mistake on the March 20 episode by announcing he had something big waiting in the wings.
“Last year it was a big one, it was 30. I think I was just so caught up in the wedding planning…” Kyle began in the episode before Ciara noted how badly he “dropped the ball.”
“I did wanna do a little something to try and make up for it,” Kyle continued, heading into another room to grab a large rectangular object covered in wrapping paper with “thank you” written across the front.
“He does listen!” Amanda joked before opening her special surprise, which turned out to be a colorful, edgy piece of art that’s perfect for their downtown New York City apartment.
The pair later took to Instagram to show off the piece by Xolo Cantillo as Kyle gushed about the gifting experience.
“Had to make up for my poor gift giving skills and got this cool piece for Amanda’s bday. My first art investment!” he exclaimed in the caption. “Shoutout to the artist [Xolo] [and] special thanks to the gallery [Anderson Contemporary] for helping me.”
