The Daily Dish Summer House

A Very Important Summer House Tradition Has Survived Since Season 1

Amanda Batula recently shared a "random fun fact" about a longstanding ritual in the Hamptons house.

By Jenny Berg

Season 5 of Summer House served up plenty of drama — and plenty of food. The latest summer in the Hamptons house showed us sandwiches, Paige DeSorbo's famous lobster pasta, and an elegant "practice wedding" feast from Danielle Olivera's favorite chef. But behind the scenes, the cast has another eating ritual that's been going on since Season 1.

How to Watch

Watch Summer House on Bravo Thursdays at 9/8c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo app.

Luke Gulbranson recently shared an Instagram snap of bacon sizzling in a pan, and tagged several of his Summer House castmates. "Bacon for one just isn't the same," the Minnesota native wrote. He added a hashtag that spelled out the bacon club

Sharing Luke's post on her own Instagram feed, Amanda Batula then delved into the crispy backstory. "Random fun fact," she wrote. "[Former cast member Lauren Wirkus] used to make bacon every weekend during the summer, so I carried on the tradition for the next 2 years and then Luke started helping out and eventually took over." She added: "No group of people love bacon more than Summer House does."
