"I always wanted to have a career. My partners were immigrants and medical doctors and they always instilled the love of education. Especially as a woman, my mother always wanted me to have that degree," shared Alexia in a 2022 interview with financial website StacheCow.

She started her working life as a teacher, then moved onto working at Venue Magazine to utilize her more creative side. She then managed her one son's modeling career, opened up a salon with her other son, and finally expanded into podcasting.

What was Alexia Nepola's first job?

Long before she was a Housewife, Alexia was a teacher.

As her official BravoTV.com bio states, after finishing her last year of high school and first two years of college in Madrid, Spain, Alexia came back to Miami to earn her Bachelors degree and a Masters in Exceptional Student Education.

After graduating, she went on to teach children in preschool through fifth grade with learning and emotional disabilities through the Miami-Dade County Public School system.

When did Alexia Nepola start at Venue Magazine?

While Alexia enjoyed teaching, it wasn't exactly scratching her creative brain.

"I went to school for education, but in my mind, I was always very creative. I loved fashion, reading and writing, so when I had the opportunity to start Venue Magazine with my husband at the time, it was the perfect blend of my interests," she told StacheCow. "I asked for a leave in teaching and started working as an executive editor of the magazine."

When fans first met Alexia, she was running Venue Magazine alongside her then-husband Herman Echevarria. Venue was an "upscale Spanish publication for fashion, entertainment, luxury lifestyle, cuisine, and Miami's social scene."

Early episodes of RHOM showed her behind-the-scenes work at the publication, where her official title became Editor in Chief. It's no easy industry; there were always parties to throw and upcoming issues to plan.

Unfortunately, the magazine shuttered after Herman's passing in September 2016.

Venue Magazine was everything to me, it was everything to Herman, it was like our baby. But after Herman’s passing, Herman’s sons decided to close the magazine," shared Alexia in Season 4.

Alexia's Little Model

In early seasons of RHOM, Alexia's son Peter Rosello was a budding model. Season 1, Episode 6 showed her taking him to a talent agency, where the owners were definitely impressed.

“I really believe in this agency. I’ve seen other models make it here. I’m hoping that they’ll be able to do something for Peter,” she said in the episode. “I want Peter to find something that he’s going to feel good about himself. And I think this will do it.”

In 2017, Alexia and her son Frankie Rosello opened Alexia + Frankie's Beauty Bar, a full-service beauty salon in Surfside, Miami Beach.

"As a busy mom, trying to run a magazine, film a reality TV show and raise two boys, she saw the opportunity to create a pretty space where women can enjoy expert nail care on a regular basis and spend time with their friends," reads the business's website. "Alexia wanted to create a self-care space for busy women on the go to feel gorgeous, confident, and like you're right at home the moment you walk in."

The salon offers any service a Miami Housewife might want, from blowouts and manicures to facials, waxes, and lash extensions.
