Amanda Calls Kyle’s Flower Boy Gig a “F-ck You From Lindsay” — But Lindsay Has an Explanation

Lindsay Hubbard revealed exactly why she didn't want Kyle Cooke to officiate her wedding to Carl Radke on the Summer House After Show.

By Shannon Raphael

Before Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke called off their wedding, the latter Summer House-mate asked Kyle Cooke to be one of their flower boys.

How to Watch

Kyle was confused by the request, which was made during Season 8, Episode 7, because Carl had been a co-best man and officiant in his 2021 wedding to Amanda Batula. Now, Amanda is weighing in herself on the Summer House After Show.

Amanda Batula's Honest Reaction to Kyle Cooke's Flower Boy Position in Carl and Lindsay's Wedding

Amanda explained on the Summer House After Show that while she was outwardly "supportive" to her husband when he learned what his role in the wedding would be, she felt differently about it internally.

"A part of me feels like it was a 'f-ck you' from Lindsay," she said. "[Be]cause, you know, sometimes they don't get along."

"I know Kyle would have loved, more than anything, to be a bigger part in the wedding," Amanda added. "But Lindsay severed a lot of [Carl]'s friendships and cut a lot of people out of his life, and they were just no longer as close as they used to be."

Kyle Warned Lindsay that Carl Wanted the Marriage More than the Actual Relationship

Amanda, however, had faith that her husband would do well at the job, which he was going to be sharing with Summer House alums Luke Gulbranson and Andrea Denver.

"I tried to just be supportive of it, because the last thing I wanted to do was make Kyle feel worse about it," she continued. "He would do amazing. I would give him little pigtails with his mullet. He would be the best flower boy ever."

Lindsay Hubbard Clarifies Why Kyle Cooke Was Asked to Be a Flower Boy

Though several of the Summer House-mates felt like Kyle's role in the wedding was a bit of an insult, Lindsay explained on the After Show why she and Carl needed to have (grown-up) flower boys in the first place.

"It was an adult only resort, no children allowed. We [couldn't] have flower girls or boys..." Lindsay said about how kids wouldn't be allowed to fill those roles. "[Kyle and Carl] were still repairing their relationship over [the] summer, so we wanted to figure out a way. So I was like, why don't we have flower boys, and you can make Kyle a flower boy?"

As for why she didn't want Kyle to officiate her and Carl's wedding as Carl had done for him, Lindsay said, "Obviously, we weren't going to have Kyle officiate because that would have been the most long-winded wedding."

Did Carl Radke want Kyle Cooke to be a groomsman?

Carl admitted on Summer House that Lindsay was the main reason why Kyle was asked to be a flower boy instead of a groomsman.
