Andy Cohen has so many famous friends, you know that his 50th birthday coming up on June 2 is definitely going to be star-studded. But it's going to be hard for any of Andy's big 5-0 celebrations to top this.
John Mayer surprised Andy during a taping of a special episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in honor of his 50th birthday, which airs Sunday, June 3 at 10/9c. The "New Light" singer took over as host of WWHL. "It is so hard to go dark on Andy because we talk so constantly, I couldn't give away that I was in New York," John told a shocked Andy after the big surprise. "It was the hardest 12 hours of my life."
That means Andy found himself in the guest's seat for this installment of WWHL, so of course he had to answer all of our burning questions about the first 50 years of his life, which he did with all of the honesty and good humor we've always known and loved him for all these years.
What 50th birthday special in honor of Andy would be complete without cameos from his long list of celebrity chums? Some of Andy's famous friends, including Sarah Jessica Parker, Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos, and Anderson Cooper, taped video messages for Andy. He even got a surprise birthday call from Dolly Parton.
John's birthday surprise for Andy included a rendition of one of the WWHL host's favorite Diana Ross songs.
John capped off the special with one more surprise for Andy by serenading his pal with one of his favorite Diana Ross songs. Talk about the best birthday present ever.
This WWHL special is just one of many surprises Andy has received for his 50th birthday so far. The Real Housewives of New York City's Luann de Lesseps treated Andy to a Marilyn Monroe-esque rendition of "Happy Birthday" in the May 29 episode of The View. Andy also previously teased his plans for the big day on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon earlier this month. "I like to celebrate a birthday," Andy shared. "My friend's throwing a party for me, I'm really excited. I like to celebrate 'big' events."
