Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper Bring Smiles to Orlando
The #WWHL host and his famous friend raised more than $240,000 for the OneOrlando Fund.
Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper have been touring their AC2 show across the country for a while now, but they've never had a performance quite like this.
The Watch What Happens Live host and the CNN anchor held a special live benefit show at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Orlando Thursday with all proceeds going to the OneOrlando Fund, which was established to support the victims of last month's tragic shooting at the Pulse nightclub and their families.
Not only did Andy and Anderson bring a lot of joy, laughs, and heart to the still-grieving city, but they also made a difference, raising more than $240,000 for the non-profit, Andy announced on Instagram Friday.
An Orlando show on this leg of the AC2 tour wasn't originally planned, but Andy said he and Anderson made sure they stopped in the city after the Pulse tragedy. "We just want to make you guys smile," the WWHL host said during the show, as reported by the Orlando Sentinel.
During the two-hour show, the duo discussed everything from Anderson's CNN coverage of the nightclub shooting (his emotional reading of the list of victims was especially praised) to The Real Housewives to their respective memorable run-ins with the Judd family, according to the Orlando Sentinel. Of course, plenty of other celebs came up, including Madonna, Mariah Carey, Oprah Winfrey, Gayle King, and David Beckham.
Below Deck Mediterranean's Bobby Giancola was one of the many who sat in the sold-out audience.
Andy and Anderson always have a great time together, as you can see from the CNN anchor's most recent visit to the Bravo Clubhouse, below.
