How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey on Peacock and the Bravo app.

Melissa Gorga and Joe Gorga have been preparing for it, and in Season 14, Episode 4 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, it finally happened: The parents moved daughter Antonia Gorga into college. After 18 years in New Jersey, Antonia was ready to conquer the University of Delaware as a Blue Hen — maybe a little bit more than her parents were. But the scene of the emotional Gorgas settling their daughter into her dorm was so real that it inspired us to make a back-to-school list of our own.

Even if viewers were prepared for this moment, it took some time for proud mom Melissa to process. "It's actually happening," she said in disbelief in an interview during the episode. "Like...we packed her up, she's ready to go." Here, she paused before adding, "Antonia's leaving."

It was a bittersweet moment, with emphasis on the sweet. After all, they weren't moving their baby in with a stranger! For her freshman year, Antonia chose to live with Jaycie, whom Melissa described as, "Someone she grew up with for her whole life, and is a really good friend of hers." As a result, despite the teary eyes and boxes of tissues that accompanied the move-in, Melissa told the camera that she "has a sense of safeness" about Antonia's living situation.

The room itself was pretty spare — two twin beds and a nice window — so it was time for the families to get to work. Quickly, the scene went from heartfelt to lighthearted, as Joe took it upon himself to warn the male students assisting the move in that his daughter doesn't like boys. Insert a classic teenage eyeroll from Antonia here.

If you're planning on moving someone into school at the end of this summer or are looking for inspiration for yourself, we totally get it. In fact, Antonia and Jaycie's room had us missing those shared room days ourselves. Because when all was said and done, the UDel dorm had seen an impressive transformation.

The girls had additional furniture, under-bed storage, the all-important shoe organizers, neon signage, cozy bedding, light-up vanities, and more modern college essentials. In fact, by the end of it, Melissa joked that "I think I'm gonna stay here" for the amenities they just provided. Can we come too?

"Last chance," Joe said to Antonia as the parents prepared to say goodbye. "No," Melissa replied, "Tell her she's gonna have the time of her life."
