Fraser Has a Message for Captain Sandy After Their Tense Conversation: “Fire Me”
Tensions rise between Captain Sandy and Fraser after she reveals that she can “hear everything” the interior crew says.
Is the morale aboard St. David sinking fast as the crew hits troubled waters?
In the final moments of the February 6 episode of Below Deck, Captain Sandy Yawn spoke to chief stew Fraser Olender about how she felt like the interior crew members were doing “a lot of standing around chatting” in the pantry after the guests from Charter 6 ate breakfast.
When Fraser tried to explain the situation, the captain told him not to talk to her. The episode concluded before viewers could find out what happens next, but a preview for the February 13 episode picks up right after the tense interaction.
In the first look, which you can watch above, Fraser says he’s in “actual shock” that the captain told him to “stop speaking.”
Meanwhile, Captain Sandy reveals in a confessional that she “can hear everything” that goes on around the boat — including the moments when Fraser and second stew Alissa Humber have aired out their complaints about the crew in the pantry.
“I’ve been doing this for over 30 years. I expect my crew to respect the positions and their leaders,” Captain Sandy explains in an interview. “You must respect the chain of command.”
She notes that the boat’s chief and second stew have “absolutely no regard for authority,” which she finds “very frustrating.”
Though Captain Sandy just wants Alissa and the chief stew to work on their respect, Fraser believes the interior crew members are performing well. He hints that he could soon be done with the boat for good.
“I’m not going to be silenced by someone who’s not seeing the [bigger] picture,” he continues. “I don’t care. Fire me.”
Find out what Captain Sandy has to say about the “thin” walls during the crew’s post-charter tip meeting — and learn who she says is the “hardest worker” on the boat — by watching the video above!
