How the Below Deck Crew Is Adjusting to Having Captain Sandy on the Charter

As the Season 10 yachties await Captain Lee Rosbach’s return, some are buckling under the pressure.

Captain Sandy Yawn has her work cut out for her on tonight’s all-new episode of Below Deck — particularly when it comes to deck/stew Camille Lamb

How to Watch

Watch Below Deck on Peacock and the Bravo App.

The above sneak peek picks up from last week just after Captain Sandy — who is temporarily filling in for Captain Lee Rosbach — gave Camille an ultimatum: “No more pushback” or she’ll be “off the boat.” As the clip shows, Camille doesn’t take the warning well despite telling Captain Sandy that it seemed “fair.”

Urging her fellow stew Alissa Humber to “get out,” Camille breaks down crying. However, Alissa — who was among those to tell Captain Sandy about their frustration with Camille’s attitude — simply continues to do her assigned task. As she explains in a confessional, “I don’t know what’s going on, what Captain Sandy said to her, but seeing her crying and upset, I feel bad for her, but I’m just trying to quietly collect my sheets and dip out.”

“You have an issue,” Alissa tells Camille as she continues to yell at her to leave. This prompts Camille to say, “Yeah I do have a f--king issue,” to which Alissa responds, “Well, I don’t have one and I don’t want one.”

Things eventually settle down, and after chief stew Fraser Olender delivers Captain Sandy a plan to minimize the tension — which in turn gets him a big compliment (!) — Camille begins to work harder. The next day, Captain Sandy even admits to being “proud” of the deck/stew.

Alissa agrees, adding in a confessional, “I see her working harder, and I’m kind of almost hopeful for the first time that she’ll get it together.”

Chef Rachel Hargrove and Deckhand Katie Glaser Agree It's "Super Empowering" Having a Female Captain

Captain Sandy, meanwhile, hasn’t run into any other major issues while filling in for Captain Lee (who’s set to return later this season). In fact, many of the crew members, including chef Rachel Hargrove and deckhand Katie Glaser, see her as “an inspiration.”

“It is so awesome to work with Sandy because it’s good to have an example being a female in the industry,” Rachel says, while Katie adds, “I do like how Sandy comes in and helps. Having a girl captain is super empowering in the boys’ world. She’s trying to teach you how to be a better person, and a better person in the yachting world.”
