Kate Chastain Is Nervous About Becoming a Mom for *This* Reason

Kate Chastain is setting sail on her next adventure: motherhood.
The Below Deck alum announced her pregnancy on Instagram on December 13, and it didn’t take long for the well wishes to pour in online.
Fans, her former crewmates, and others from the Bravo family are all excited for the former chief stew to become a mom, but how does Kate herself feel about this next chapter?
Kate told E! News that she feels “so great” in her pregnancy so far — but she does recognize how much her life is going to change once her little one is born in May.
“Honestly, I like sleeping in and I’m also kind of lazy and selfish, so I feel like that’s gonna be an adjustment,” she joked to the outlet. “But I just figure if I love this child as much as I love my dog, everything will be fine, and people are assuring me that I will.”
As Kate prepares to take on motherhood, she has plenty of Bravolebrities to look to for inspiration. One stands out for making it all look “cool and easy”: Shahs of Sunset’s Mercedes “MJ” Javid.
“The first time I met her, she had just had her little baby and she came and picked me up at my hotel. We went out to dinner, she brought that baby with us, sat at the restaurant, had a margarita and some chips and salsa,” Kate told E! News about meeting MJ and her son, Shams, for the first time. “I think, ‘Really? Are you nervous to be a mom?’ No, MJ made it look so cool and easy. So I’m excited.”
With lots of experience planning theme parties and dealing with high-pressure situations (and some high-maintenance guests), Kate may already be more prepared for what’s to come than she ever imagined.
