Where Is the Below Deck Med Season 7 Yacht’s Slide?

Here’s the reason you haven’t seen Below Deck Med’s infamous slide aboard motor yacht Home.

The Below Deck Mediterranean Season 7 Yacht Might Be the Most Luxurious Yet

If you’re a Below Deck fan, you’ve probably realized something is missing from Season 7 of Below Deck Mediterranean. The slide, which has been the source of much enjoyment for the charter guests and the bane of every crew member’s existence, is nowhere to be found aboard motor yacht Home — and there’s a major reason for that.

How to Watch

In the Below Deck Med Season 7 premiere, Captain Sandy Yawn had some news about the slide during her first preference sheet meeting with chief stew Natasha Webb, chef Dave White, and bosun Raygan Tyler. “They expect to use all available water toys,” Captain Sandy said of the first group of charter guests of the season. “Here’s the bummer: The slide’s held up in customs. So you will need to pull out all stops on deck. Every available opportunity.”

Still, when the primary noticed that no slide had been put out as his charter got under way, he expressed his dissatisfaction with the trip so far to Captain Sandy. “On our preference sheet it says, ‘Slide. Out. At. All. Times,’” the primary charter guest told the Below Deck Med boss. “Can you show me where the slide is?”

Captain Sandy explained that they didn’t have the slide because it had been held in customs. The primary charter guest was understanding, but he said the crew should then “make up for it” by putting out all the water toys that were available on the yacht. Captain Sandy told the charter guest that his concerns were valid and explained that the deck team was doing the best they could while waiting for two of the deckhands, Mzi “Zee” Dempers and Storm Smith, to arrive.

Earlier in this season of Below Deck Med, Captain Sandy tweeted about how much she misses the slide in Season 7 to the Below Deck Slide fan Twitter account. “Just come back to us as soon as you can. We LOVE you!” she wrote on July 16. “#BelowDeckMed deck crew misses you. So do our guests!”

We have a feeling the Below Deck Med crew may not be missing the slide as much as Captain Sandy is so far this season, as yachties from seasons past have expressed how much they dislike having to get it out for the guests. The slide was even at the center of a tense moment between Captain Sandy and Malia White in Season 6 of Below Deck Med when the crew members didn’t see eye to eye about how to keep it inflated (clip below).

Captain Sandy explained why ensuring that the slide is out and functioning properly is so important during a charter. “The guests are there. The slide’s the ‘big attraction.’ I don’t care what we have to do to keep that thing functioning. For the time that it’s out before night falls, we do that,” she said in the Below Deck Mediterranean Season 6 After Show (clip below). “We’re smoke and mirrors, man. We don’t show them we’re failing; we show them we’re succeeding.”

Motor yacht Home may not have a slide, but it does have plenty of other amazing features. Take a tour of the luxurious vessel in the video at the top of this post.
