Below Deck Med's Brooke Laughton Defends João Franco: "Only the People That Matter Really Matter"
The Below Deck Mediterranean stewardess is clapping back at the deckhand's critics in a major way.
João Franco has ruffled a few feathers, to say the least, during his time on Below Deck Mediterranean so far. The deckhand has butted heads with several members of the crew, including Hannah Ferrier, Conrad Empson, and Jamie Jason. But João does have at least one friend among the crew, and she's here to slay all Twitter trolls on his behalf.
Brooke Laughton recently stood up for João and all of this season's Below Deck Med crew members on Twitter, posting several tweets asking for more understanding and less hate from some fans. "Wow- I really don’t like to get involved in this but PLEASE people just be kind and empathetic- realise your words may hurt REAL people, just because they put themselves out there for a tv show doesn’t mean they [don't] have feelings," Brooke tweeted.
She also tweeted, "I’m proud of [every one] of my crew members."
Brooke also came to the defense of João, to whom she has been a friend this season, despite his drama with some of the other crew members. "@joaograntfranco you’re a gentleman, loving, hardworking and intelligent- the opposite of what a lot of people have seen," she tweeted. "Only the people that matter really matter."
But sometimes, Absolutely Fabulous just says it best.
This season's Below Deck Med crew got some support earlier this week from Chef Ben Robinson, who came to the defense of all those working meal service and sent some love to Captain Sandy Yawn.
