Rhylee Gerber Shares Her Dog’s Recent Surgery: "She Is Quite Literally My Whole Heart"
The Below Deck cast member had to make a difficult decision for her longtime pup's health.
Rhylee Gerber may have a tough exterior, but the Below Deck deckhand definitely has a soft spot, especially for her loved ones, which includes her longtime furry companion Dolce.
Sadly, Rhylee posted on Instagram that Dolce recently underwent a major surgery that resulted in the pup losing an eye.
"My sweet Dolce had an ulcer in her right eye resulting in almost complete loss of vision. The decision to remove the eye was based on her old age as well as the immense daily pain it caused her and the possibility of recovery not being at [100] percent with merely sewing her third eyelid shut. Dolce has been by my side through many travels to include 7 cross country trips from Florida to Alaska and back for the last 13 years. She is quite literally, my whole heart," Rhylee wrote.
Luckily, Dolce is as cute as ever post-procedure. She wrote in an Instagram Story, "She's got her appetite at least and has been diligently sleeping away the pain." She also shared a sweet video and photo of her beloved pup below.
