Gary, Daisy, and Colin's Messy Love Triangle Leaves Mads and Chase with *Feelings*

Plus, Chase reveals how Gary King could have been a better leader.

By Shannon Raphael

Parsifal III has faced engine and mechanical issues throughout Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 4, and it wasn't exactly smooth sailing for the deck team during the charter season, either.

How to Watch

After missing the first charter because he tested positive for COVID, First Mate Gary King joined fellow deck team members Chase Lemacks and Alex Propson late, and it didn't take long for Gary to begin to clash with Chase over work-related tasks. Since then, the two have failed to get on the same page.

On the June 12 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Chase opened up about what Gary was like as a leader, and he also shared his thoughts on his boss's love triangle with Daisy Kelliher and Colin MacRae.

Chase Lemacks' Thoughts on Gary King's Leadership Skills

Though Chase and Gary have had time apart since they worked together on Parsifal III for Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 4, it doesn't seem like they ever resolved any of the tension between them. On WWHL, Chase was asked to reflect on Gary's leadership style, and he didn't hold back.

"There were just no instruction[s]. We were expected to know everything, and then we would be called out when we did it wrong," Chase said, before sharing what he thinks Gary could have done differently. "I think if he took two hours on the first day he arrived and walked us around the boat [and] showed us how everything worked, we would have been fine."

The South Carolina native also noted that he and Alex "had no walk-around" once Gary made it on board the sailing vessel. "I would just learn where things [were] on the boat and we'd screw up and he'd call us out for it," Chase added. "That's how we learned."

Chase's Thoughts on the Gary, Daisy, and Colin Drama

As someone who was there when Colin found out that Gary and Daisy had hooked up before filming commenced on Season 4, Chase had a unique perspective on the complicated love triangle.

"Somebody should have let him in on it," Chase said about how Daisy and Gary should have said something to Colin earlier. "If they're that close of friends, you know, I think that situation, that argument, never happens if everyone has all the information. But, I see why [Daisy] didn't [tell Colin]."

Chase also shared that he doesn't think that Colin was "mad" that the two have slept together, rather "he's mad that he was left out of the loop" and like he wasn't "privy [to] the information."

Mads Herrera, who appeared on WWHL alongside Chase and who hooked up with Gary during the charter season, also weighed in on the messy love triangle. More specifically, she revealed why she was so "unbothered" by Gary's confession that he had slept with Daisy.

"Right out the gate, [I] kind of knew [that] Gary is playing some sort of game, so I just didn't find him a reliable person or source," Mads explained.

During the WWHL After Show, Mads also revealed whether she would have hooked up with Gary had she known that he had been with Daisy. Find out what her response was by watching the above video.
