Here's What Kate Chastain Really Thinks of Below Deck Sailing Yacht's Chief Stew Jenna MacGillivray

"You can't ever imagine working with another chief stew because you're both these Type A personalities," Jenna MacGillivray said.

A new Below Deck franchise means a new chief stew, and Jenna MacGillivray is the one who has stepped up to the plate to keep things afloat in the interior this season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht. Now that would be a distinguished honor in and of itself, but it looks like Jenna has gotten something even more prestigious: Kate Chastain's blessing.

The Below Deck chief stew sang Jenna's praises when The Daily Dish asked her for her thoughts on the new franchise backstage at the Below Deck Season 7 reunion. "Jenna and I are kind of friends. I've met her before, and she's really sweet, hilarious," Kate gushed in the above clip. "So we DM each other a lot, and I'm just really happy that I could give her any advice that she might need during this crazy adventure."

Kate actually got to see Jenna's chief stew skills in person when she was a guest on the Parsifal III in Greece. "Her and I get along really well," Jenna said of the experience during an interview with The Daily Dish last week. "She's been in the game for a long time, and she's lovely. I think her and I are on the same page for a lot of things, so it's nice to have an OG have your back."

Jenna said that she and Kate are "similar and different" when it comes to their work. "I think she definitely has her own style, too," she said. "I think we both have the dry sarcasm down to a T. So I like that."

But Jenna isn't here to compare how they each approach the job of chief stew. "I don't know her well enough. I've never worked with her. You can't ever imagine working with another chief stew because you're both these Type A personalities," Jenna explained. "I think that she is equally respected by her captain and has been for years, and I feel like the captain's opinion is by far the most superior, so kudos to her for kicking it in the game for this long. I'm glad we have a friendship and a mutual respect, so that's awesome."

This isn't the only major connection linking Below Deck and Below Deck Sailing Yacht. The Valor yachties reveal more of their sailor friends, as well as their advice for the newest members of the Below Deck family, in the above clip.
