You Won't Believe How Kate Chastain Is Practicing for Motherhood

Plus the Below Deck Galley Talk cast member just called this RHOBH alum "#momgoals."

Kate Chastain is getting ready for motherhood in the same way that she would plan for for a Below Deck theme party: lots of setting up, and plenty of preparation in advance.

How to Watch

The Below Deck Galley Talk cast member, who was also Captain Lee Rosbach's trusted chief stew on Seasons 2 through 7 of Below Deck, announced that she is expecting her first child on Instagram in December.

Since she revealed her pregnancy news, Kate has let fans in on motherhood journey. During a surprise appearance on an episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen just a day after her exciting Instagram reveal, Kate shared that she is due in May 2023, and that she's planning on raising her baby solo, but "perhaps with some help." She also confirmed that she already knows the sex of her baby (though she wants to keep the news private for the time being), and that she has a family name picked out for her bundle of joy.

Now, the former chief stew is also letting her fans in on how exactly she's preparing for motherhood: plenty of test runs.

On January 7, Kate posted a video on her Instagram and Twitter feeds featuring her driving around with a car seat installed in the back of her vehicle. Since Kate is still awaiting the arrival of her own baby, she substituted a doll in the seat for dramatic effect.

The video seemed to suggest that Kate was just practicing what it would be like to drive with her baby in the car, but she was actually "on the way to celebrate" Below Deck Mediterranean alum Jessica More's baby girl, Charli.

"Trying to get used to the idea of having a baby of my own in the back seat," Kate joked in part of her caption on her Instagram post.

Jessica replied in the comments that Kate will be the "best momma," but the Galley Talk cast member thinks that another Bravolebrity is the ultimate mom inspiration: RHOBH alum Brandi Glanville.

When the RHUGT Ex-Wives Club cast member shared a photo with her son, Jake Cibrian, on her Instagram feed on December 31, Kate (who is appearing alongside Brandi on Peacock's The Traitors) referred to Brandi as "#MomGoals" in the comments' section.

A few weeks before she complimented Brandi, Kate told E! News that she really wants to emulate Shahs of Sunset's Mercedes "MJ" Javid's style of parenting because she makes it look "so cool and easy." It now looks like Kate is finding inspiration from multiple people in the greater Bravolebrity family.
