The New York State Senate said "I Do" to legalizing gay marriage back in June, and on Sunday hundreds of same-sex couples were finally able to make it official.

The Real Housewives of New York City's Simon van Kempen commemorated the historic day on his Twittter page, posting, "Happy Wedding Day to the 1,000's of couples tying the knot today & a special shout out to the 764 Gay & Lesbian couples doing so in New York."

Wife and fellow marriage equality champion Alex McCord likewise cheered on the newlyweds. "Today is the 1st day our #LGBT friends can marry in NYstate - congrats 2 @MENYnyc & everyone who worked so hard 2get there," she tweeted. But their work is hardly done, and the RHONY star reminded her gay rights cohorts, "44 states 2go..."

Patti Stanger agrees and is pushing for her home turf to soon follow in New York's LGBT-loving footsteps. "@BravoAndy So excited for NY's Chris & Phyllis same sex marriage today...mazel tov! CA get your ass in gear!" tweeted the Millionaire Matchmaker. Bravo's mastermind Andy Cohen basked in his state's wedded triumph by telling his followers, "I love NY.... Every day, but especially today! #MarriageEquality."

And honorary bridesmaid Kathy Griffin raised her glass to toast all the freshly dubbed husbands and wives via the Twitterverse. "Congrats to all the newlyweds in NY! Bottoms up! ;) The first day of marriage #equality," she tweeted. "Next, FEDERAL equality!"
