Here's What Would Have Resolved Candiace and Monique's Issues, According to Wendy
The RHOP newcomer shares how she believes the ladies could have moved forward following the winery incident.
The tension between Candiace Dillard Bassett and Monique Samuels came to a head during The Real Housewives of Potomac ladies' night at a winery earlier this season, but Wendy Osefo said that she believes they could have moved on from this moment in a positive direction.
Wendy opened up about the incident during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on October 11, sharing that she didn't believe "anything warrants" getting physical. "But, for me, I think that the ladies, both of them, should have arranged a time to speak to each other and hash out the issues outside of the noise of the group, outside of anyone that may have been whispering in their ears," Wendy explained in the above clip. "I wish that they would have talked about this, over dinner, over a cocktail, and I honestly think it would have been resolved."
In the latest episode of RHOP, which aired on October 11, Candiace shared with Robyn Dixon that pressing charges against Monique was "on the table" after she said that Karen Huger told her that's what she would have done in this situation. Wendy shared on WWHL that she was surprised to hear Candiace considering taking this step.
"Yeah, I was shocked because we often get into it as a friend group, but pressing charges is something that we haven't done before. But then again, having experienced the whole incident, it was really visceral. It was a lot," Wendy said, adding, "It's up to Candiace to decide what she wants to do with that."
Candiace and Monique both filed complaints against one another in November 2019, resulting in each being charged with second-degree assault. The charges against both women were ultimately dropped in December 2019.
The ladies had more to say about Karen's comments to Candiace in The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 5 After Show, which you can view, below.
