By Cynthia Robinson

On Season 11, Episode 7 of Below Deck, which aired on March 18, Captain Kerry Titheradge announced his displeasure with the previous night's drama between deckhand Kyle Stillie, bosun Jared Woodin, and stew Barbara "Barbie" Pascual. ICYMI, after a crew night out, Kyle spilled some of his tobacco on deck, causing a bit of an argument between him and Jared when he entered Barbie's room where she and Kyle were hanging out.

When their conversation in the crew mess woke Kerry up, he wasn't too happy about the situation, citing the "unacceptable" behavior as his reasoning for ultimately letting Jared go from the crew. "End of the day, my primary responsibility is safety of the vessel and the crew, and this guy is really creating a problem for me," Kerry said in a confessional interview during the episode.

Following Jared's departure, Kerry had to move quickly to replace the boat's bosun position, turning to lead deckhand, Ben Willoughby, to take on the task.

During a meeting with the crew, Kerry relayed the information about the change-up on the boat, getting everyone "on the same page."

"The deck team's gonna be down a person, [and] I'm gonna help out even more than I do now," he began, then pointing to Ben, who would be taking on a "promotion" to bosun.

After the crew clapped for Ben, Barbie jumped in to note, "Well deserved, man...You're gonna be a great bosun."

After the crew meeting, Sunny Marquis, who's had a bit of a boatmance this season with the newly-appointed bosun, asked him, "Are you a bit nervous, stepping up into your new position?"

"No, honestly," Ben proudly proclaimed.

Meeting with Sunny and Kyle before the charter, Ben noted they would be "pretty busy" with their duties, considering they were a "deck member down."

"It's not ideal, but ... I'm ready to show Kerry what I've got," Ben triumphantly stated in a confessional interview during the episode.

Ben further noted it was his "first time docking" with just him and Kyle on deck, but added he couldn't let his nerves show to the captain.

Luckily, Ben's first go at bosun worked out swimmingly, as he successfully lead the captain and the 60 foot yacht out of the dock.

"You smashed it — well done," Kerry said to Ben over his walkie-talkie.
