Jared Woodin and His Relationship with His Daughter

While the deckhands were chatting on deck, Ben asked how often the Florida resident manages to see his Alaska-based daughter.

"I've never met her," Jared said, before adding that his daughter's mother "said she didn't particularly want me to be a part of things."

In an interview on Episode 4, Jared admitted that when he first found out that his ex-girlfriend was expecting, he wasn't ready to be a dad. However, as time went on, he changed his perspective.

"I haven't met my daughter yet because, at the time that I found out she was pregnant, it was a shell shock to me, I wasn't ready for it," he said. "I didn't handle it properly, and I'm trying like hell to correct that."

As a result, he schedules two calls with his daughter each week, and it's important for him to answer every call.

"Like, I want her to get to know me. I want to get to know her," he added. "But, it's hard to sew back a wound without leaving a scar behind."

After the charter guests left on Episode 4, Jared took a brief break from turning the boat around to go down to his cabin to call his daughter. However, the call couldn't be connected because there was no service.

Jared got emotional about missing the call in another interview on the episode.

"I'm on a set schedule to talk to my daughter, and not being able to talk because of the lack of cellular service here [in Grenada] really put me in a difficult way," he explained. "My fear is that, if I don't maintain this schedule, she'll just cut me off."
