D’Andra Simmons is back home and on the mend after spending several days in a Texas hospital undergoing treatment for coronavirus (COVID-19).

The Real Housewives of Dallas cast member confirmed her release from the hospital in an Instagram post on December 31, sharing gratitude for the healthcare workers that helped care for her during her recovery.

“I want to send so much love and gratitude to all of the staff at UTSW Hospital. From the nurses, techs, doctors and everyone in between who helped me throughout my time at the hospital,” she wrote in the caption alongside a video of her exiting the hospital. “I want to say THANK YOU for taking such good care of me and putting your own health on the line to make sure I recovered safely.”

She went on to add, “Yay, this is the BEST New Year’s Eve night I could have ever imagined. I’m so happy to be home and with my #hotthubby @jeremytlock again! I’m out of the @utswmed COVID Ward and taking time to relax and recover at home. Finally something good to come out of 2020.”

D’Andra was initially hospitalized on December 28 after testing positive for COVID-19. "Her oxygen levels were borderline and she will start remdesivir [an antiviral drug],” her rep said in a statement at the time. ”At this time we ask you to respect her and her family’s privacy and to send your prayers for a speedy recovery,"

Shortly before her return home on New Year's Eve, D’Andra’s rep shared another update on her condition with People. “D’Andra is set to be released from the hospital today as she was able to sleep last night off of oxygen for the first time, and she will be receiving her last remdesivir treatment this afternoon,” the statement read. ”The doctors plan to collect the last of the research data for the Regeneron trial study before the end of the day. They anticipate sending her home later today with oxygen in case she has any setbacks."
