Dorit Kemsley and PK Kemsley Break Down Their Finances
The couple spoke about their money situation during Season 10 of RHOBH.
The subject of Dorit Kemsley and Paul "PK" Kemsley's finances was certainly a hot-button issue on Season 9 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, particularly for Camille Grammer, who wanted to make it a topic of discussion. And the Kemsleys' finances came up again during the April 22 episode of RHOBH as the couple was settling into their lavish new home.
"I know it doesn't fit into the narrative that the press are trying to tell: that we have no money. But it's public record. Buyer: Dorit Kemsley," she said of the couple's home and the gossip about their money at the time Season 10 was filming. "Well, what difference does that make [if the house is in my name]? I mean, is your house in both yours and your wife's name?" she then asked the producer in an interview during the episode.
At the time of filming, there were headlines about Dorit's financial situation in connection with her husband's legal issues. "It's terrible, particularly [because] it comes from a period of time [when] I didn't even know you. I'm sorry. It upsets me," PK told Dorit in the episode. "I'm just embarrassed that you have to read it. That's all."
Dorit noted: "The really funny thing is that this has nothing to do with me and I'm somehow in the middle of it, which is OK because we go through life together."
During the episode, PK, in interview, explained how he came to be the man he is today in business.
"I got a job as a real estate broker for a firm that had very posh clients so he wanted me to go to elocution lessons," he shared about his origin story. "I had a natural flair for identifying buildings with value. I had an instinct on it and that instinct came through very, very early."
Per Dorit, he turned his business into one worth almost $2 billion.
"At its peak, we had a good run and then the world flipped upside down and it's not commonly known as the credit crunch," PK said. "It was a financial tsunami... Financially, when I met Dorit, I was a little better off than broke."
As for the gossip and headlines, PK had this message: "I answer that by knowing who I am. I can't shut the noise down and I certainly can't spend my life encasing that negative energy."
During the Season 10 premiere on April 15, Dorit confirmed that the Beverly Beach lawsuit "finally came to a resolution."
