The women of Married to Medicine are no strangers to brushing elbows with the rich and famous. But in the latest episode of Married to Medicine Season 10, Dr. Jackie Walters got the opportunity to bring an important cause to the very top when she hopped on a video call with Vice President Kamala Harris.

How to Watch

Watch Married to Medicine Sundays at 9/8c on Bravo and streaming on Peacock and the Bravo App.

What did Dr. Jackie discuss with Vice President Harris?

"I was so nervous," Dr. Jackie revealed in an interview with The Daily Dish. "Because you know how it goes: You have to stay in protocol with certain things. You can’t just get on the line and [be like] 'Heeeey, girl!'"

In the episode, audiences (and the rest of the ladies) learned that Dr. Jackie and Vice President Harris were members of the same sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha. But, despite that light-hearted connection, there were more serious topics at hand. The majority of their conversation revolved around the "epidemic" of maternity deaths, especially among Black women, in the United States, as well as the recent overturning of Roe v. Wade, which has restricted access to abortions.

"We are in a crisis in the United States of America," Dr. Jackie said. "And until you see it and live it you don’t realize how much it’s happening until you talk to patients now who call me from other parts of Georgia and the United States to say ‘This is what happened to me.’ You’re horrified at what’s happening. And this crisis isn’t just doctor-owned. It’s everybody, it takes a whole village to fix this. And to get the Vice President involved, I think we’re on to something."

What's the fallout from the winery trip?

The Ladies Relax After Kicking Quad Webb Off the Trip

It wasn't all business at the winery, though, when the ladies gathered to support Toya Bush-Harris' latest endeavor into the world of wine and spent some time relaxing. One memorable evening after a tense dinner resulted in the other women asking Quad Webb to leave.

Dr. Jackie explained that it was a difficult but necessary decision at the time.

"We like to qualify that [Quad] is a friend. We like to say that a lot," she qualified. "It’s just reached a point where sometimes you have to take a break. I think rejection sometimes is really protection, and so she may just be in a place right now where she needs some quiet time to reflect and see how much she misses her friends."

When asked if there was any hope for Quad and Toya's relationship (by far the most strained of them all this season), she admitted that might take a bit more work. "You never say never here," she said. "We’ve seen a lot of relationships, mine included, go in these topsy-turvey kind of ways but I never say never. But it’s an uphill battle."

That one, she said with a laugh, might take a little interference from Reverand Jesse Jackson — "keep hope alive" — down the line.
