Emily Simpson Shares a Look at Her Life as a “Momager”
The RHOC cast member shared a peek into daughter Annabelle’s latest modeling gig: “Earning her money.”
Emily Simpson is one dedicated — and very proud — mama.
The Real Housewives of Orange County cast member spent a portion of her weekend at a photo shoot for her 10-year-old daughter, Annabelle. Emily, who recently took on “momager” duties for her eldest child, shared a behind-the-scenes look at the July 2 modeling gig, which was shot by photographer Jaspreet Singh at the Balboa Fun Zone amusement park in Newport Beach, California.
Emily Simpson embraces her “momager” role
Emily posted a series of Instagram Stories that showed Annabelle posing in different looks for Carmen Sol, a New York City–based brand that specializes in recyclable and vegan fashion. The shoot was centered around Carmen Sol’s jelly shoulder bags, borchia bracelets, and Italian-crafted children’s slides. Most of Annabelle’s photos were taken near the park’s waterfront Ferris wheel, which was the perfect complement to the colorful pieces.
“Earning her money,” Emily captioned one of the Stories, adding the hashtag “momager.”
It appears the OC mom is also teaching her daughter how to balance work and play. Shortly after the shoot was finished, Emily posted a video of Annabelle enjoying the popular Coconut Tree Climb attraction. The footage showed the 10-year-old quickly making her way up the trunk before she paused near the top.
“I can’t reach it,” she told her mom, who was filming on the side.
“You can do it. There, you got it,” Emily responded. “You’re almost there!”
Emily Simpson’s daughter has wanted to model for years
Emily spoke about her daughter’s modeling career on RHOC Season 17 Episode 4.
“Annabelle just like came out of the womb with this huge personality,” she said in an interview. “She’s been interested in modeling for many years. I just wanted to make sure that she’s to the point where she would take it seriously, and I feel like we’re finally there.”
The June 28 episode followed the mother and daughter as they met with the LA Model Management team. After Annabelle explained her interest in modeling and acting, Emily reassured the agency that she was fully committed to her daughter’s career.
The OC attorney then reflected on the importance of family time, and how she wanted to give her children “a better life” than her own. Emily and her husband, Shane Simpson, welcomed Annabelle a few years after tying the knot. The couple also shares a set of twin boys named Luke and Keller.
“Being around my kids all the time and being so invested in their life, it really brings up a lot of memories about my own childhood,” Emily said in an interview. “You know, when you’re growing up, you don’t know that your mom should get up with you every morning and make sure you have breakfast. No one did that for me, and that’s kind of weird, kind of sh-tty… And I think as parents, our goal is to do better than the generation before us, which isn’t that high of a threshold, honestly.”
