The Real Housewives of Orange County alum updated fans on how the delivery of her daughter via C-section went in a post on Instagram on Thursday, July 11. "God is Great!! Skylar Gray Smiley arrived safely into this world today! Most amazing [and] emotional day of my life!" Gretchen gushed in the post, which also featured a divine photo of her baby bump draped in lace taken when she was 38 weeks pregnant. "I am doing good as well of course I have some pain from the c-section, but it was all so worth it!"

Gretchen also promised that more details and photos of her newborn are coming soon, which is good because we're dying to see that beautiful face. "But for now just focusing on Sky and taking good care of her," Gretchen noted in the post. "Thank you all for your prayers and love today! Love you guys!"

As Gretchen approached the day she was to be induced to give birth, she shared that she had to "make a super hard decision," revealing that she had chosen to deliver her daughter via C-section at the recommendation of her doctor instead of the vaginal birth she had been planning.

"When you have this vision of how you want your labor and delivery to go and it doesn’t turn out [the] way you imagined, there is this sadness and internal struggle with 'why isn’t my body cooperating' or am I making the right decision etc. So after crying it out, and being sad about not having a 'vaginal birth' yesterday, I asked God to give me a sign that this is the best decision, and he did! He literally had so many of my friends reach out to me yesterday and put me at ease about a potential c-section (and they didn’t even know what had happened at the [appointment])," Gretchen shared in a post on Instagram on July 9. "So I am scheduled for the c-section tomorrow and am going to embrace it with as much confidence as I can, and know that having her in my arms safely is all that matters!"

Now we can't wait to see Gretchen with her little one.
