Heather and Terry Dubrow Declare “This Is the Beginning of the End”

See what’s next for the RHOC couple.

By Allison Crist

Heather Dubrow and her husband, Dr. Terry Dubrow, are adjusting to some big changes on The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 17 — particularly when it comes to their children.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Orange County on  Peacock and the Bravo App.

Parents to twins Max and Nick (aka “Nicky”), Kat, and Ace, Heather and Terry opened up about said changes on Season 17 Episode 4 of RHOC, which aired June 28.

Heather’s Twins, Max and Nick, Moved Away for College

As Heather explained during the episode, it had been approximately a week since she and Terry packed up Max and Nicky so they could head to their respective colleges (Tufts University for Max and Loyola Marymount University for Nicky).

“This sucks,” Terry told Heather after they entered Nicky’s empty room. “God, we’ve lost half of our children.”

Flashback clips of Heather and Nicky driving away from their family home, as well as Heather and Terry on a plane with Max, then appeared. Meanwhile, Heather explained in a confessional interview, “I can’t believe Max and Nicky are off to college. I’m going to miss them terribly and not seeing them every day. They’re more than our two oldest kids, they’re really treasured friends.”

She went on to share what she’s “gonna miss the most,” which is “going in their rooms and talking to them.”

“And even, you know, if I didn’t see one of them from dinner, they come home, they come in, they want to talk, they chat, they hang out, they lay on my floor,” Heather continued. “It’s kinda messy and loud — it’s the exact family that I wanted.”

What’s Next for Heather and Terry

Back in conversation with Terry, he pointed out, “This is the beginning of the end of our lives, in a way.”

That, in turn, got Heather thinking about their next steps as a couple, as well as her goals for her career. As she told her husband, “I just feel like I have literally put my life on hold for 20 years — and I don’t want to say it like that, because it’s not like I put my life on hold. This is my life, the five of you are my life. But, like, my personal hopes and dreams and acting goals. Now that two of them are gone, I feel like, is my time looming? And is it too late?”

“It’s so much easier to bury yourself into other people’s lives and careers and problems and issues,” Heather continued, “but when you have to really face your own, it’s a lot. Even though I’m excited, I’m worried. Am I too old? Am I too far out? Am I still talented? Can I still do it?”

Regardless of her doubts, she concluded that she was ready to try. And what better place to get back into acting than Los Angeles?

“I think that’s part of the reason I want to go back to L.A.,” Heather told Terry. “I don’t want to live the same life but without them. It’s time to start the next phase, right?”

His response? Yes — but mostly because “the restaurants are so much better up there,” he joked.
