Heather Dubrow Shares a Major and “Awesome” Update on Her Acting Career
See what has the RHOC cast member saying that “a little piece of Heather Paige Kent [is] coming back.”
Heather Dubrow isn’t looking to change her name back anytime soon (who can forget the infamous bow-cake debacle at her name-changing party on The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 7?), but she is looking to become Heather Paige Kent again in one major way.
On the upcoming Episode 3 of RHOC Season 17, which is set to air on June 21, Heather decides to dedicate more of her time and energy to her acting career now that Max and Nick, the twins she shares with husband Dr. Terry Dubrow, are heading off to college.
Heather Dubrow’s Acting Career Update
In the clip above, Nick asks what his parents plan to do now that they are half-empty nesters. The RHOC cast member then confirms that she has her sights set on a major Hollywood return.
“We’re trying to get a presence back in L.A., and I feel like it’s my first step back in the door, back into my old career,” Heather says to Nick, Max, and their two younger kids, Kat and Ace. “And maybe it’s not the same as it was, but like whatever the new version of the old career is — but I have to be there.”
Getting a presence back in L.A. means selling Chateau Dubrow, which Heather and Terry did in 2022. The couple also purchased a penthouse apartment in Los Angeles in 2022.
Heather’s Passion for Acting
As Heather explains in an interview on the episode, she’s been focusing on her children for the past few years: “When we bought a house in Orange County, I really was making a decision to put my career on hold to raise our family. But maybe there’s a space right now, I’m seeing, for me to have something for me.”
With two of her kids leaving the nest, Heather is rediscovering her love for acting.
“I’ve never lost the passion for performing, and I will always be a performer,” she says. “And I kind of want to do it all again. Like, a little piece of Heather Paige Kent coming back. That’s awesome.”
Heather’s Tiff with Taylor Armstrong Over Acting
Though Heather is looking to get back to her acting roots as soon as possible, the drama may actually begin before anyone has the opportunity to say “Lights, camera, action!”
At Gina Kirschenheiter’s Flamingle boat event on Episode 2, Heather made “drunk plans” to take on a movie role alongside friend of the ladies Taylor Armstrong. When Taylor texted her in earnest about the part after the event, Heather had a different sort of reaction.
“I said, ‘OMG! Were you serious?’” Heather recalls in the clip above about the text she sent Taylor.
