Is Family Karma's Amrit Kapai Still Together with Boyfriend Nicholas?

One of the things we loved most about this season of Family Karma was watching Amrit Kapai's love story with his boyfriend, Nicholas. After first meeting in Chicago, the two continued their relationship long distance when Amrit decided to move from the Windy City back home to Miami for his law career. 

We watched the couple navigate their new long-distance dynamic this season when Nicholas visited Amrit in Miami. As Nicholas met Amrit's family and learned more about his Indian culture and traditions, the two discussed their commitment to one another and how to create a life together in the future.

However, it wasn't always smooth sailing for Amrit and Nicholas. Though Amrit's parents have been accepting of his sexuality and have welcomed Nicholas with open arms, there are still some things they are getting used to, such as how they should introduce their son's boyfriend to other people. Nicholas even confronted Amrit's mom about this when she referred to him as her son's friend.

Amrit used Vishal Parvani and Richa's engagement ceremony as an opportunity to introduce his boyfriend to the Indian community. "This is the first time I'm gonna bring Nicholas to this big Indian community engagement party and show the world that this is my partner, not a girl, it's a guy," Amrit said in an interview during the Family Karma Season 1 finale. "And I also want to show him that I'm not ashamed of our relationship."

Nicholas and Amrit's mom even had a heart-to-heart during the party in which they cleared the air about how she introduced him to others. The two embraced, and Amrit's mom told Nicholas that he will always have parents in her and Amrit's father, even if his own family hasn't accepted his sexuality just yet. Amrit's father also said that he considers Nicholas to be a son during an interview in the episode. 

Despite these challenges, Amrit and Nicholas are still together today, we are happy to report. Amrit confirmed their relationship status by sharing several photos of himself with his "special friend" Nick on Instagram on April 27.

We can't wait to see what the future holds for these two!

Amrit also recently thanked fans "for such a wonderful season" as he toasted to Season 1 of Family Karma on Instagram. "Honestly, it's been such a wild ride, and I wouldn't have traded it for anything in the world," he said in the video. "Be proud of who you are. You deserve it."
