James Kennedy is ready to be just James Kennedy. The Vanderpump Rules DJ confirmed that he will no longer go by his nickname, "White Kanye," and that he's "officially retiring" the moniker which pays tribute to Kanye West.

“I’m just going to be James Kennedy — the best producer that I can be, myself,” he told Page Six. “But his music still lives within me.”

James also shared that he will release his first remix through a major label soon, in addition to new music.

And while he is no longer using his nickname which pays homage to the rapper, he is ready to work with him should the call ever come. “I’ve got a whole folder of stuff waiting for you, like my own Kanye West production folder," he said about the potential of working with Kanye.

And in case you missed it, 2020 has been a big year for James. In addition to his upcoming music release through a major label, he continues to find new ways to take his relationship with Raquel Leviss to new levels — and he also marked one year of sobriety back in July.

At the time, he shared, "Letting go of drinking was the best decision I ever made and I’m going strong. I don’t miss the booze. I don’t miss the feeling. I’m so grateful for everything now and life has become more beautiful in many ways... Thank you to my rock @raquelleviss for getting me here I couldn’t of done this without you my love. And thank you all for the support this past year."
