Jim Edmonds Explains Those Photos with His and Meghan King Edmonds' Nanny
The Real Housewives of Orange County alum denies the recent cheating allegations.
Following allegations that Jim Edmonds had cheated on wife Meghan King Edmonds with one of their children's nannies, photos have surfaced of the former MLB player out with nanny Carly Wilson at a hockey game and at the gym.
Jim addressed the photo of the two at the sporting event in the comments to a post on Instagram on Monday, October 28. “I didn’t take her to an event by myself. Get your facts straight,” he told a commenter, according to Us Weekly. “I was with my best friend and his child. I was trying to do something nice for the girl who just had her boyfriend dumped [sic] her.”
Jim added that Wilson is “like a daughter to me” and “all of this bulls--t will not change that.”
Rumors of Jim's infidelity emerged last week following a report that he had filed for divorce from Meghan after five years of marriage. “It’s dangerous, irresponsible and hurtful to all to allow a rumor to be spread to the world because of insecurities,” Jim said while denying the allegations in a statement to Us Weekly on October 26.
He later opened up more about the allegations in a lengthy note on Instagram on October 28. "It’s one thing to be accused of something. It’s another thing to be so negligent and so careless, and ruin the lives of innocent young people," he wrote. "I did not sleep with our nanny. She’s not just a nanny, she is someone that we brought into our house and promised to protect and look after while she was in our home. We have been treating and raising this young girl like she is our own child. For someone to accuse me of sleeping with her is not only wrong, it’s disgusting and irresponsible."
Jim continued, "We made a promise to that young [girl's] mom, that we would take care of her and make sure that she was safe while she was in our hands. I will not sit here and take this bulls--t without fighting back."
"We all make mistakes. This is not one of those times," Jim ended the message. "My heart is broken for everyone involved. If you get anything out of this post get the truth."
Wilson also denied the allegations multiple times on Instagram. "In the past week, allegations have been made about me which are not based in fact. I have not and never would participate in any action involving infidelity," Wilson wrote in a post on Instagram on October 28. "I consider this a private matter in someone else’s marriage and will not comment on it further. I wish the entire family well. #BeKind."
Meghan, who reportedly confronted Jim and Wilson about the allegations, appeared to comment on the rumors in a post on Instagram on October 25. After one commenter wrote, "Judging by Jim's Instagram, I'm guessing it's nanny Carly whom he posted NINE photos of 11 months ago. And she has deleted her IG," Meghan replied with a thumbs up emoji.
Other than sharing on Instagram that she felt "so raw" following the news of her split, Meghan hasn't said much else about her marital drama. Rather, she has kept busy with some family time with her and Jim's three children (Aspen, who turns 3 in November, and 1-year-old twin sons Hart and Hayes).
