Can Kandi Burruss and Phaedra Parks Ever Be Friends Again?
"Too much has been done to even turn back at this point," The #RHOA singer/songwriter shared.
If you were hoping that the new season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta would mean a reconciliation between Kandi Burruss and Phaedra Parks, you'd better think again. Following the events of last season (which involved a misunderstanding between Phaedra and Kandi's husband, Todd Tucker, about his production of the lawyer's workout DVD), the two Hotlanta residents have yet to make up.
"Phaedra and I are cordial. I keep saying that every time somebody asks me that question," Kandi told The Daily Dish. "We're cordial. We have a lot of mutual friends so we keep it to, 'Hey, how are you doing?' At certain points throughout this year, we were able to laugh together a little bit, but then things would happen and we were like [no]. So, at this point we're not really cool. We're just cordial."
When asked whether she thinks they can ever mend that relationship and become friends again she added, "We can't. We can't go back to that place. Ever."
Kandi had a message for any viewers wondering why they won't see the pair become buddy-buddy again anytime soon.
"Too much has been said, like way too much," she said. "I feel like I used to kind of hold back on some of the things that I would say because this will be the third season in a row that she and I were not on the same page. A lot of people will be like, 'I miss your friendship.' And I'm like, 'Do y'all realize this is going on like three years things have been this way?'"
Kandi noted there may have been a glimmer of hope for them a while back, but that window has closed. "So, two years ago when it all started, I didn't think we had a problem. I didn't know she was saying stuff about me and then I'm watching the show like, 'What?'" she said. "And then, of course, there were other things that happened and I was just like, 'OK, this is getting out of control.' And now it's to the point where I just feel like we've said way too much and too much has been done to even turn back at this point. I do not trust her. I'm sure she don't trust me and we can just leave it at that. Keep it moving. This year I said I wasn't holding back on anything, so, OK, you want to say stuff about me, so let's talk about you right now."
Kandi teased that there's more drama to come between the two former pals as RHOA chugs along this season. "I felt like she had something to do with a particular situation," the singer/songwriter shared on Watch What Happens Live on Sunday.
