Karen Huger Reacts to Husband Ray's Comments About Gizelle Bryant
The RHOP cast member gives insight into her husband's dynamic with Gizelle Bryant amid their drama.
This season of The Real Housewives of Potomac has been filled with drama, but it was a comment made all the way back in Season 2 that has really had everyone talking.
Back during Dr. Wendy Osefo's Nude Interlude party featured in the Season 6 premiere, Karen Huger shared how hurt she was by a past conversation Gizelle Bryant had with her husband, Ray Huger, which was featured in Season 2 of RHOP. While discussing Gizelle's dating life, Ray implied that looks fade and that she would "need to attract guys while you can." In response, Gizelle said in an interview during that episode, "This beauty ain't fading. He will be buried six feet under before this fades."
Since Karen has said that she would like to see Gizelle show remorse for her comments about Ray, one member of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen's virtual audience wanted to know if Ray should do the same for what he said about Gizelle way back when. "I think Ray and Gizelle will have a private moment," Karen shared during her October 24 appearance on WWHL (clip above). "They are not enemies; Gizelle and I were enemies."
When Gizelle appeared on WWHL earlier this month, she said that it "was wrong" for Ray to make those comments about her looks and explained why she didn't express that to Karen earlier this season of RHOP. "Well, first of all, this happened [in] Season 2. And what Karen didn't realize was I made a joke and made light of the fact that her husband told me that I'm going to be ugly, OK?" Gizelle shared. "That's an issue. You don't ever talk about a woman's looks who's not your wife — or anyone, really. Like, it's not cool. And I made a joke of it. She should've thanked me."
However, Gizelle also recalled a sweet moment Karen shared with her daughters at her Reasonably Shady party during that previous WWHL appearance. "They didn't show this, but when my kids came out to make sure their mommy's toe was OK, because it was broken, Karen jumped out of her seat and gave each of my kids a hug," Gizelle shared. "That meant a lot to me, and it shows that we can fuss and fight, but the kids stay out of it and that's what real good girlfriends do. They fight, but keep the kids out of it."
Thankfully, Karen and Gizelle have been able to move on from their early Season 6 drama, even seeming to have a good time with each other during the couples' trip to Maryland's Eastern Shore. "By the way, I should say it was super fun seeing you and Gizelle getting along on this trip," Andy Cohen noted to Karen during her latest visit to the Bravo Clubhouse.
The RHOP grande dame agreed with Andy, sharing, "Yeah, it was fun."
Andy also mentioned how much he loved seeing Gizelle say "some very nice things" about Karen during her previous WWHL appearance. "Well, our relationship is one that is full circle. So, we will get beyond what we're going through, and we might come back to it again," Karen explained. "I'm just saying, that's how we work!"
