Captain Lee Rosbach Weighs in on Kate Chastain's Confrontation with the Crew

Things got heated in the Below Deck yacht's interior after the crew's night out.

By Laura Rosenfeld

There's a divide among the Valor crew this season of Below Deck, and Captain Lee Rosbach has definitely noticed it.

How to Watch

The Below Deck boss remarked on the status of his crew as the charter season comes to a close in the latest blog post on his website. "Wow, right when I thought that we could all pull together for the final two charters and bring it together............it was not to be. And for the life of me I cannot understand why. Why do people let emotions rule their common sense? Why do people let their hormones and testosterone get in the way?" he wrote. "As you all know by now if you follow me, I’m old school. It has served me well for the last few decades and I’m not about to abandon it now. Whatever happened to respect, when it is earned, common courtesy, being polite, just the basics people, not much more than that. But the discourse I have been hearing from most of this crew is none of that and for that, I am embarrassed."

Captain Lee went on to say that he is "disappointed" in the male crew members this season. So when it came to Kate Chastain's confrontation with Ashton Pienaar, Kevin Dobson, Tanner Sterback, and Brian de Saint Pern on the yacht after the crew's night out, he praised her for how she handled the situation.

"Kate, what can I say? You have consistently stayed Kate, and that is a good thing. The boys needed a lesson, though I wish it hadn’t been you the one [to] try to teach them as they learned nothing from it," Captain Lee wrote. "It unfortunately will take more than this to teach this crew how to behave in a proper fashion. But thanks for putting forth the exercise in futility. Probably should have just let it all go and packed it in for the night given the circumstances that evening."

What we can only imagine Captain Lee was pretty peeved about that night, since he didn't mention it in his blog post, was the fact that he was woken up by all the ruckus from the crew. His face says it all.
