Katie Maloney-Schwartz Reacts to Tom Sandoval Calling Her "Entitled" on WWHL

Katie Maloney-Schwartz has expressed an interest in getting involved with husband Tom Schwartz's new bar with Tom Sandoval. She does have years of working in hospitality that extends beyond her time as a SURver, after all.

"I started working at a f--king restaurant when I was 13 years old. My mom ran a restaurant my entire life," Katie said in an interview during the Vanderpump Rules Season 9 premiere, which aired on September 28. "They would be idiots not to take advantage of my help. Are you kidding me?"

But so far this season of Vanderpump Rules, it seems like Sandoval hasn't been so receptive to Katie's input on the bar. The two clashed at Scheana Shay's birthday party when Katie told Sandoval that his proposed name for the bar, Schwartz and Sandy's, was "uninspired."

When the Toms appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on September 28, Andy Cohen read a fan question that asked Sandoval, "Considering Katie has spent so much of her life in the service industry, why don't you trust her opinions when it comes to the new bar?"

"It's not that I don't trust her opinions," Sandoval clarified, before saying more subtly, "It's the entitlement."

Schwartz quickly came to his wife's defense. "There's no entitlement," he said, with which Sandoval ultimately agreed.

Katie got her chance to respond to Sandoval's comments during her appearance on WWHL on October 5 (clip below). "It's not the first time I've heard him call me entitled, so I let that one kind of pass through me," Katie shared. "I don't consider myself entitled; I consider myself experienced and confident."

She also addressed how her tension with Sandoval impacts Schwartz, who is obviously in a tough spot between his wife and best friend. "Schwartz, I try not to put him in the middle, and I try to advocate for myself," Katie said. "But it's difficult, because I get frustrated, but I try not to let it affect me too much."

Elsewhere on Tuesday's WWHL, Katie actually had lots of nice things to say about Sandoval, including why Schwartz is lucky to have him as his BFF. "Sandoval is extremely caring," Katie shared. "He does go above and beyond for his friends. He will bend over backwards for them."

Despite their occasional drama, Sandoval really does have a lot of love for Katie. "Like, we take vacations together. Dude, we love each other, man," Sandoval confirmed on WWHL last week. "We have very strong personalities, so yeah, we do butt heads. But I frickin' love Katie, dude. I love Katie so much. She knows that."
