These Are the Below Deck Yachties Kyle Viljoen Keeps in Touch With
The Below Deck Galley Talk cast member also revealed an update on his engagement and wedding plans.
Kyle Viljoen may not be living in close quarters on the lower level of a superyacht anymore, but the stew is still very tight with several current and former cast members from the Below Deck franchise.
On the After Show for the February 6 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the Below Deck Galley Talk cast member shared that he has formed and maintained strong friendships with various stews from past seasons of Below Deck Mediterranean and Below Deck.
One of his best pals is Below Deck Down Under chief stew Aesha Scott, who happens to be the one who sits next to Kyle on the couch when they film Galley Talk together.
“I definitely became close to Aesha,” Kyle said on the After Show, which you can check out in the above clip. “I think we share the same personalities.”
The New York City transplant said he has also “become close” with Aesha’s friend and fellow Season 4 stew Anastasia Surmava, and he has kept in contact with Below Deck Season 6 second stew Josiah Carter.
“We reached out a lot to each other. We’ve been really good,” Kyle said about his connection to Josiah, who is also a member of the LGBTQIA+ community. “And that’s why I just love that we have more of the representation coming on board.”
While Kyle has gotten to know crew members from other seasons of Below Deck and Below Deck Med, he’s also still tight with his chief stew from Season 7, Natasha Webb.
After confirming that he’s on good terms with the Brit (and that they had FaceTimed at 3 a.m. the day of WWHL), Kyle revealed a positive update on Natasha’s love life following her intense boatmance with chef Dave White.
“She’s happily in love, and she’s really found a lot of happiness internally with herself,” he explained. And Natasha isn’t the only Season 7 alum who is “happily in love.” Kyle is as well!
The WWHL guest confirmed his engagement to Dr. Zachary Riley in November 2022 after about a year of dating. In the months that have followed, Kyle has gushed on Instagram about how his relationship with the New York–based medical professional stands apart.
“What I can say is this is the first time I felt love, love for me was the ability to trust my partner, the unconditional care, the sneaky farts and running away, the morning coffees and the evening dinners, the challenges we face, the growth we witness within one another and [realizing] home is wherever I find him, my best friend, my partner!” he wrote in the caption of a post on February 1. “With this and many more what I found in Zachary was the ability to be my 100% authentic self, comfortability, emotional growth, mental expansion and understanding I give my all and even with that I realize still have more to give.”
On the late-night talk series, Kyle teased that he’s planning to tie the knot with Zachary sometime in 2024.
