Lady Gaga's Carpool Karaoke Performance *Might* Just Rival Adele's
The Mother Monster belted out her greatest hits with James Corden and dished about her life.
We're here to make a bold statement: Lady Gaga's "Carpool Karaoke" could be competition for Adele's unforgettable session with James Corden, as she busted out some of the bossest songs in her catalog during the The Late Late Show with James Corden segment Tuesday night. Yes, that meant that she even belted out "Bad Romance."
The Gaga set list was amped up, featuring new tunes ("Perfect Illusion" and "Million Reasons" from her new album, Joanne) and old classics ("Edge of Glory," "Pokerface," and "Born this Way"), as well as some cool background info from the Mother Monster herself — like the fact that many of those tracks were written in about ten minutes.
While Gaga has basically done it all (she's won Grammys, VMAs, and even a Golden Globe; has been a voice for important social issues; and is a fashion icon), there's one moment that left her dad in tears. That is when she got her driver's license earlier this year. "Just a few months ago [and] it was so embarrassing. My whole family came with me to the DMV," she recalled. "My father cried when I got my driver's license." We have to admit, that's kind of adorable.
She also dished about owning costumes once worn by the King of Pop himself, Michael Jackson. "I must have at least 400 pieces," she said. "I've got a 'Thriller' jacket. I've got one of his gloves, lots of his tour costumes. They're kept in pristine condition [in a temperature-controlled room]."
As for her own legendary sense of style, Gaga made no apologies for anything she's ever worn, including her unforgettable meat dress that she wore to the VMAs in 2010. "With me, I just never really worry about who likes it or doesn't," she said. "Kind of the point is to be unfashionable."
