Lala Kent welcomes her first child, Ocean Kent Emmett, in 2021

Lala entered motherhood nearly three years ago when she and her ex-fiancé welcomed a baby girl named Ocean Kent Emmett. About a month before giving birth, Lala shared a lengthy Instagram post in which she detailed her difficult pregnancy journey and a health scare that put her on bed rest.

Lala Kent Bed Rest Pregnancy 01

“At 6 weeks I started bleeding. I went to the emergency room, already knowing what they could tell me,” she wrote in a 2021 Instagram Story. “They took me into the room for an ultrasound and I laid there quietly… I started to sob and gently asked how I was supposed to know what was going on. [The nurse] stayed silent, and then turned up the monitor where, for the first time, I heard the pitter patter of my baby’s heartbeat. ‘Your baby is still there.’ For the next 3 weeks I would continue to randomly bleed and each time I would call my OB and be beside myself. Although bleeding during pregnancy isn’t normal, it is common. My bleeding was the result of a clot. I was put on bed rest until it was gone.”

Lala Kent reflects on being a mother to a "magical" baby girl

Despite the difficult and scary experience, Lala said giving birth was “the most amazing thing to ever happen to” her. The single mom spoke about her 2-year-old daughter during the Vanderpump Rules Season 11 premiere screening back in January.

“I adore her,” she told BravoTV.com at the time. “Can I be real? I describe her in the first [Vanderpump Rules Season 11] episode as magical. I would not use that word any longer. She’s fully kicking my ass. She’s going to be 3, which they call it 3-teen.”

Lala Kent shares her plans for baby No. 2: Ocean "deserves a sibling"

Lala also revealed if she had any plans to give Ocean a little brother or sister.

“That is the plan,” she said. “And I think [Vanderpump Rules] viewers will see another reason why I’m trying to practice a softer side because that is something that I’m actively thinking about doing and taking the next step… Ocean’s [amost] three, I’d like them to be close in age. She deserves a sibling. So yes, that’s in the cards for me.”

Lala Kent on Using a Sperm Donor for Baby No. 2

During a 2022 episode of Scheana Shay’s podcast, Lala spoke about her desire to have more children and how she wanted to use a sperm donor, regardless of her relationship status.

“I’ve said a few times, I don’t know what will happen. And a partner could come into my life, [but] because there’s such a high chance of it not working out, especially where we live, I’m not taking the chance,” she explained. “Like, I am so scarred from all of this s--t that has happened in my life, I’m doing a sperm donor. Period. I will not even attempt to try and do it a different way. I don’t want another person involved.”

She told her castmate she had already met with a fertility specialist and that the process seemed relatively easy.

“They have the website and the sperm donors that you look at,” Lala explained. "And I asked, ‘How quickly can we do this?’ And she said, ‘You literally pick, pay, it arrives the next day, and you could come in and get it done.’ Like, it’s very, very fast.”

Lala Kent confirms she "secured" a sperm donor

Lala shared an update on her fertility journey in a January interview with Cosmopolitan, saying her second child would be conceived through intrauterine insemination (IUI).

"We’ve got all our ducks in a row. The donor is secured, which I’m super excited about," she said. "It took a really long time to find the donor because, you know, it’s strange... It’s like you’re shopping for your partner but only to have a child, so there’s a lot that goes into it. But the moment I found this donor, it just spoke to me. He felt like my baby daddy. *laughs* So that’s where we’re at. The moment I can go forward with the IUI, then we’ll be there."
