Does Lisa Vanderpump Approve of her Son's Friendship with James Kennedy?
The #RHOBH mom comments on Max's relationship with the #PumpRules bad-boy DJ.
James Kennedy may have faced off with Ken Todd earlier this season on Vanderpump Rules, but that doesn't mean the DJ has fallen out of favor with the entire Vanderpump-Todd clan. In fact, he remains tight with Lisa Vanderpump's son, Max Vanderpump-Todd. And the SUR boss is totally fine with their friendship, as she explained this week during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
"Well I think my son, Max, knows his own mind," she said. "If anything he's been a bit of a mentor to James. Look, when children get to a certain age you can't choose their friendships and you cant choose their partners. I've tried that. I'm a control freak and it doesn't work. But I actually think Max can be a good influence in James' life."
In addition to living out their friendship on Vanderpump Rules, the mates often pop up on each other's Instagram feeds.
James also enlisted his buddy to star alongside him in his 2016 music video for "Don't Look Down." At the time, James spoke to The Daily Dish about his friendship with Lisa's son. "Well Max is my best friend, and we do everything together," he said last March. "Also, he is featured on my album PUMP Sessions that I wrote and produced myself which will be coming out this month. Max is featured on a couple songs on the album, 'You Can't Wait' and 'Sevii.' Our group together is called Lifeguard. We have a lot of fun making music together."
