Nia Booko Says Brittany Cartwright Was “Making All the Excuses” for Jax Taylor

Nia Booko also said Jax Taylor was "annoying" and "frustrating" with the pool party incident.

If there’s one thing The Valley’s Nia Booko doesn’t appreciate, it’s a pool party pantsing.

Jax Taylor’s “junior high” prank-turned-epic-party-disaster in the series premiere still had the former Miss USA fuming days later.

“I wanted to punch him,” Nia admitted to her husband, Danny Booko, in the new series’ second episode.

“Well, you are a fourth-degree black belt,” Danny joked, referencing the mom of three’s  impressive taekwondo past.

Why is Nia Booko mad at Jax Taylor?

Luckily, it never came to blows at the county fair-themed party, but Nia clearly still had some unresolved feelings about Jax and his wife, Brittany Cartwright, who she felt was “making excuses” for her husband’s childish behavior.

It all began at the pool party bash for Janet Caperna’s birthday, when Jax ran up behind Danny and pulled his swim trunks down, completely exposing the actor to a party full of people.

Danny quickly covered himself, but the stunt left Nia furious.

“Like who the hell does something like that?” she asked. “It’s a bathing suit.”

Before long, Nia was sobbing in a back room.

“It’s just so wrong,” she declared through tears.

Why does Nia Booko think Brittany Cartwright was “making excuses” for Jax?

As the party’s host, Brittany was quick to try to comfort the sobbing new mom. (Nia welcomed twin daughters just six weeks earlier).

“Honey, I’m so so, sorry — that’s the last thing I would ever want to happen to you is for you to get upset at the party,” Brittany told her as she gave her a hug. “That’s the last thing I would want.”

But Brittany didn’t completely condemn her husband’s actions either.

“I don’t even think that Jax even was gonna realize it was gonna be like [that],” she told Nia at the time.

While reflecting on the incident later with Danny, Nia admitted Brittany’s actions rubbed her the wrong way.

“I love Brittany but she was also just making all the excuses,” she said.

And she didn’t mince words when it came to her thoughts on Jax, calling him “annoying” and “frustrating.”

“Like why?” she asked.

“Exactly, what is his intention behind it?” Danny said.

“Right, like deflecting or something,” Nia added. “He doesn’t need to be adding to what I’m dealing with.”

Nia admitted her post-birth hormones could have been exacerbating the issue.

“I don’t know exactly how to label it per se, but all the heavy, like hormones and emotions that I’ve been feeling, it’s been a lot,” she told producers. “There’s some days where I'm like is this my new normal? Sometimes in the moment it doesn’t feel like it’s going to get better.”

When the party foul was brought up once again at a girls night at Michelle Saniei Lally’s house, it was clear Nia was still feeling emotional.

“Last time I saw you it was a train wreck. Are you feeling better?” Brittany asked her.

”I am feeling better now,” Nia replied.

Brittany once again made sure to speak up for her husband, promising he was filled with regret for the joke gone wrong.

“Jax is so, like, the last thing he would ever want to do is make you sad. Like, his heart was broken when he saw you crying,” she said, calling it a “stupid thing.” “I’ve apologized, he’s apologized, you know I didn’t do nothing, but still.”

Nia admitted the whole incident still made her “emotional to think about.”

“It’s just so frustrating,” she said as the tears nearly fell again.

Was Danny Booko mad Jax Taylor pantsed him?

Across town at the boys’ night going on at the same time, Danny seemed to be more forgiving of the incident.

“You got a belt on?” Jax asked him when he first walked up to the table at the bar.

“I almost just came pants around my ankles, buddy,” Danny replied.

The men decided to “hug it out” and move on.

“I love you,” Jax told him as they embraced.

“I love you too,” Danny replied.

Jax apologized and the two agreed to “drop it” — no pun intended.

“I’m one to never hold a grudge,” Danny told producers. “Jax and I have been friends for years and know that he has a good heart and a good soul. Nia took it harder than I expected, but that’s not the first time I’ve been pantsed. It was just probably in junior high.”
