Rami Malek Now Has Something Even Better Than an Oscar: Lisa Vanderpump's Seal of Approval
Lisa Vanderpump praised Rami Malek's "amazing portrayal" of her friend Freddie Mercury, for which he won the Best Actor Oscar.
Winning the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role as Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody pretty much proves that Rami Malek's portrayal of the late Queen frontman was spot on. But now it's official thanks to another honor bestowed upon the actor that's just as prestigious — if you ask us, at least.
Lisa Vanderpump applauded Malek's win and praised his performance as Mercury as the 91st Academy Awards aired on Sunday night. And she would know since she knew the legendary singer herself. "Oh thank god! We knew Freddie. It was an amazing portrayal.. well done!" Lisa shared on Twitter, before complimenting Malek on his "amazing speech" in another tweet.
How has Lisa been in our lives for so long, and this is the first we're hearing of her connection to Mercury? If it were us, we'd be bragging about this non-stop. But Lisa is just cool like that, we guess. Plus, we imagine that she and her husband, Ken Todd, ran in a pretty fabulous circle when they dominated the London nightlife scene as owners of several bars, restaurants, and nightclubs long before The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (she also knew the likes of George Michael, for instance).
Lisa also showed some love to other stars who stunned during the ceremony, including Jennifer Lopez, Bette Midler, and Lady Gaga.
Catch Lisa living that Hollywood life on RHOBH Tuesdays at 9/8c. Check out a sneak peek of an upcoming episode below.
