Kyle Richards Posted the Best Birthday Tribute to Newly Engaged Paris Hilton
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills aunt hopes all of her niece's "wishes come true."
Paris Hilton has a lot to celebrate this week. Not only did she turn 40 on February 17, but also just days before that, her boyfriend, Carter Reum, asked her to marry him after a year of dating. She shared the exciting news on Instagram and confirmed the engagement to multiple outlets.
"This past year with COVID has accelerated so many things. As someone who traveled constantly, I had a chance to stay home and reevaluate what was important to me. My relationship and the time I spent with Carter was a gift," Paris told PEOPLE. "I'm excited for our next chapter."
Her future husband added, "I have gotten the unique opportunity to get to know the real Paris on a daily basis just the two of us during these past 15 months and I couldn't be more excited and lucky to have her as my future wife and partner. She shines with her kindness, work ethic, authenticity and her voice in making the world a better place and she will do the same as a future mother and wife."
Paris previously confirmed plans to start a family noting she was undergoing IVF. In a statement to Vogue about her engagement, she added, "I am excited about this next chapter and having such a supportive partner. Our relationship is one of equals. We make each other better people. He was absolutely worth the wait!”
According to Vogue, Carter is a Chicago native who started the venture capital firm, M13, and previously worked in finance. “From our very first date, I was able to get to know the real Paris,” he told the fashion publication. “As people who have seen her documentary and recent advocacy work know, Paris is kind, smart, driven, authentic, and an amazing woman, and I can’t wait to have her as a partner in life.”
Paris was previously engaged to actor Chris Zylka in 2018.
Her aunt, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Kyle Richards, was quick to show her niece some birthday love on Instagram. "Happy almost birthday [Paris] (wanted to be the first to post)," she wrote about her newly engaged family member. "You made me an aunt when I had just turned 12! You taught me what it was like to love and nurture a baby. We lay in bed at night, cuddling side by side. And I learned what it felt like to love someone so much it hurt. I never knew when you grew up we would look like twins. Sorry [Kathy Hilton], but we do have the same face. I love you so much and am so proud of you. This past year you have really shown the world who you truly are. I love you so much and hope that all of your wishes come true."
Spoiler alert: It seems like Paris' wishes are already coming true as she referred to her engagement on Instagram as "my birthday dream come true."
Paris added on Instagram, "When you find your soulmate, you don’t just know it. You feel it."
