Phaedra Parks' Ex-Husband Apollo Nida Hopes to "Be Together Soon" with His Sons
The Real Housewives of Atlanta ex opens up about his relationship with sons Ayden and Dylan.
Now that Apollo Nida's legal woes are almost behind him, he's focused on being the best father he can be. The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum recently opened up on Instagram about his dedication to his sons with ex-wife Phaedra Parks.
Apollo shared a photo of sons Ayden, 9, and Dylan, 6, looking all grown up and absolutely dapper on Instagram. "We will be together soon. No matter what," Apollo wrote. "The fight will not stop to be a good DAD!!! There’s not a day that goes by I don’t think of the [two] of [you]. LOVE AND MISS YA SO MUCH."
Apollo has been living in a halfway house in Philadelphia since being released from prison for the second time this year in July. He had previously been released from prison and moved into a halfway house in Philadelphia in June, but he was taken back into custody just days later after he had allegedly broken a technical condition of his release, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.
Apollo began his eight-year prison sentence for fraud and identity theft in 2014. His sentence was reduced by one year in March 2019. He is now scheduled to be released from federal custody on November 26.
When Apollo left prison in June, he only had his sons on his mind. "When I picked you up, the FIRST thing you wanted to do, was call your children. What a beautiful thing to witness, they were sooo happy to hear from you," Apollo's fiancée, Sherien Almufti, shared in a Father's Day tribute to Apollo on Instagram earlier this summer. "One day they will all be in your arms and you will NEVER let go! Happy Father’s Day."
Phaedra, who reached a divorce settlement with Apollo in 2017, told DailyMailTV in July that her sons were "sad" and "disappointed" when they heard that their dad had been taken back into custody in June. "Apollo had been telling me that he was coming home early. I'm of the mindset, 'I'll believe it when I see it.' And so when he called us on FaceTime and he was in a car and we could see that he was outdoors and so he said, 'I've been released' and we were all excited because of course I want the boys to have a relationship with their father — and it would be great to have that support from Apollo," she said. "But of course, you know, nine days later he was rearrested."
Phaedra and Apollo currently share joint legal custody of their kids, while she has primary physical custody. "My sons have been through a lot, they've seen a lot of good things, they've seen a lot of bad things and nobody's life is going to be perfect, so we're just going to continue and keep our schedules as they have been and we're going to hope and pray that Apollo can get it together," she said.
